On Saturday, Chico and I won performance speed jumping in the 16 inch class. Yes there were only two dogs in the second round and the other one didn’t qualify, but we won. To win we had to run two hard, fast courses; run them clean, and not be slow.
In the first class of the day, we were clean, but almost a full second over the allowed time.
We had a great weekend, in and out of the ring.
And on Saturday afternoon, I stopped by one of those chain haircut places for a desperately needed trim. In conversation I mentioned that I’d be 60 soon. When I went to pay for my already inexpensive haircut, I discovered that I had received a 20% senior discount. I don’t feel old, but apparently I have lived long enough turn some privileges. I might not have been so happy about the discount if I hadn’t just done something successful in the physical arena.
Lucy is in the land of collies for a couple of days, she gets some romping time and she had an appointment with the groomer this morning. Chico and I took advantage of the situation to go for a little late afternoon walk, just the two of us. What a wonderful winter sunset we found.
how to talk the way he does.
There’s not much to see in this video, it’s for listening. Chico’s is the louder, more confident voice.
This is Dakota eating a big pile of lunch hay.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
This [was until I deleted the file before the up load finished] him and his pasture pal, Brody, and the two piles of lunch hay. Dakota’s is much larger. He has chased Brody away from the larger pile and is enjoying it all alone.
Is it something that I do to animals? Or do I attract resource hoarding animals? Or is this all perfectly normal?
While I roll around the yoga mat, the dogs get to chew something. Somehow, Chico often ends up with both bones, as well as one I didn’t even realize was accessible.
There’s no actual fighting, but it’s not something that makes me real happy.
Chico has developed a new affection for some toys, like this one, that he never really cared about before.
It’s interesting to learn about the dynamics of two dogs.
Must be a bit like having a second child.
